Distinguishing the good from the great

My favorite picture from the first photographer is one of a man smiling while smoke comes out of his mouth. I didn't like it just because of the main subject, I liked it because of what was going on behind him. You see the world he's living in and what is happening around him. It's scary and really bring emotions to me, so it really portrays this different world in a good way. The runner up I chose was the picture of a young looking boy with what looks like a dead person behind him. It really is scary and shows the feelings and emotions so well, and brings a person feel to the photo, which you don't get from any photo. These pictures are interesting because you get a peak into a world that you haven't really seen before.

My personal favorite photo from the second photographer (Buzzfeed) was the picture of a couple hugging and smiling after Hurricane Danny. I liked this picture because it really showed a story and portrayed emotion in both of the subjects. It looks like they are in a safe shelter and you can actually feel for both of them. The runner up I saw was what looked like a family trying to run away from their house after it had fell into the flooding water. This picture was so good because it is right up in the action of what's happening. It shows the fear in all of the subjects, and shows exactly what is happening around them. This  picture basically is the definition of photojournalism, so it's one of my favorites.

  1. The dead person is pretty infamous. Kind of the Cambodian Hitler. Great job overall. 100. 100.
